- <li>1/2 cup (125g) unsalted butter, melted</li>
- <li>1 + 1/4 cup (200g) dark chocolate, melted</li>
- <li>1 cup (200g) light brown sugar, packed</li>
- <li>2 eggs, room temperature<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>1/2 cup (69g) gluten free OR regular multipurpose flour</li>
- <li>1 teaspoon baking powder</li>
- <li>2 tablespoons (12g) black cocoa powder</li>
- <li>1/2 cup (95g) semi sweet chocolate chips<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>2 thinly sliced fresh strawberries for the brownie batter + 1 thinly sliced strawberry for the top layer</li>

- <ul>
- <li>CREAM CHEESE LAYER:</li>
- <li>8 oz (226g) cream cheese, room temperature</li>
- <li>1/4 cup (53g) granulated sugar</li>
- <li>1/4 teaspoon (4 mL) vanilla extract</li>
- <li>1/2 teaspoon (1 g) cornstarch</li>
- <li>1 egg, room temperature</li>

Steps:
- <ol>
- <li>Make the cream cheese layer first by mixing all ingredients in a medium bowl whisking by hand or using an electric mixer until smooth & creamy.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Set bowl aside.</li>
- <li>Preheat oven to 350F & line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Set aside.</li>
- <li>Melt the unsalted butter & chocolate in a heat safe bowl over a small pot of simmering hot water.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>Stir frequently until fully melted, silky, & smooth.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Remove bowl from the heat & set aside.</li>
- <li>In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs & light brown sugar with a spatula until fully combined & sugar is fully mixed in.</li>
- <li>Pour the melted butter chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, & mix again with spatula until combined. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>Add the gluten free multipurpose flour, baking powder, & dark cocoa powder to the large mixing bowl with the wet ingredients, & gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Do not overmix.</li>
- <li>Fold in the semi sweet chocolate chips & the 2 thinly sliced strawberry pieces to the brownie batter. Do not overmix!</li>
- <li>Pour 3/4 of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan evenly.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Next pour the cheesecake mixture on top of the brownie batter.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>At this point you can make swirls with a knife or chopstick.</li>
- <li>Top off the cream cheese layer with the rest of the brownie batter in dollops.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Again make more swirls for desired look, & finish off with scattering the last thinly slices of strawberry on top.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>Bake for 20-23 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean with a little bit of batter on it. Every oven is different. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
- <li>Once done, leave brownies on counter for 30 minutes, then refrigerate them for at least 1 hour to get an extra fudgy texture.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
